Hello,
We are less than two months from the first league of the 2026-27 season! You can find dates and links to register below. Also, don't forget to sign up for or renew your membership (you'll find that link below, too).
But first, we have some big summer events coming right up!
Congratulations to our MCA playoff champions

Congratulations to Cedar Rapids Curling members Mac, Cale, and Parker for winning the Midwest Curling Association Arena National playdowns! We can’t wait to cheer you all (plus Greg) on in Dallas this fall!
Join us for annual CRC picnic SATURDAY
We have much to celebrate! Our Member Meeting & Picnic is scheduled for noon Saturday, July 18, at CRC President Phil Burian's home in the historic Brucemore district of Cedar Rapids. (Address will be sent before the date.)
Bring your family and significant others! Cedar Rapids Curling will provide the hamburgers, brats, buns, and utensils. We ask that you bring an appetizer, side, dish, or dessert to share. After eating and catching up, we will have a short member meeting to share club status and plans.

Help make CedarSpiel a success
CedarSpiel 2026 officially is a go for Aug. 7-9!
To make the ice as good as it possibly can be for this event, we have started flooding the ice, which will continue on a regular basis right up until CedarSpiel.
We need a minimum of two people for a flood, but three or four is better. This process takes 60-90 minutes depending on how much help we have.
Check out the times and dates we hope to flood and sign up to help make perfect curling ice. Plus, you can start racking up volunteer hours to put toward a league price discount the following curling season!
If you have any questions about flooding, email Lon Peper at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
We also will be looking for volunteers throughout the weekend. Sign up on the various tabs of this form to help with ice prep, merchandise and raffle sales, and dinner prep/serving. It takes a village to make an event like this happen!
If you still want to sign up a team for CedarSpiel, it's not too late. Final registration deadline is July 24.
If you want to play but don't have a team, no worries! Sign up here. This link is for club members who do not have their own team. We will put teams together for club members from this list.
Let's make this the best CedarSpiel yet!
Share curling at CR Farmers Market
We are excited to announce that Cedar Rapids Curling will once again have a booth at the Cedar Rapids Farmers Market on Aug. 15.
We will have a tent with a table full of curling items for people to check out, balloons for the kids (and adults), and hopefully our street curling set so people can "throw a stone."
This will be a great time to hang out together and share our sport with our community outside the ice!

Volunteers needed for corporate event
We are hosting our first corporate event of the season from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27. Corporate events are one of the primary ways that Cedar Rapids Curling makes money, and we can't do it without volunteers! If you can help, we'd appreciate it. Even if you don't feel comfortable teaching, we always need people to help set up and herd rocks and help everyone have fun!

Join or renew your membership
The 2026-27 Cedar Rapids Curling season runs from September through August.
To play in leagues (other than instructional leagues), players must pay an annual membership fee, which covers insurance, USA Curling and Midwest Curling Association membership, use of club curling equipment, and general overhead.
In addition to league play, membership offers intraclub curling and social activities throughout the year. Members have opportunities to develop their curling skills and knowledge, socialize with our members and regional clubs through friendlies, and curl at fun social and competitive events around the country.

Free night of curling to start the new season
If you haven't been on the ice since spring and are feeling a little rusty, we've got you covered. We will host a free night on the ice Sept. 8.
Before we open the ice for pick-up games or any practice drills, we'll take a few minutes to run through ice set-up and a "teach the teacher" lesson. Whether you have taught learn-to-curls in the past or want to teach new curlers, please join us. Think you're not a good enough curler to teach? Think again!

Sign up for 2026-27 leagues now (including Thursdays!)
Our fall leagues (YES, leagues plural!) will start Sept. 10 and include a Thursday option!
Our leagues are open format, meaning your team can be all male, female, or any combination. You can sign up for leagues as a team of four, with one or two others, or as an individual, in which case we will group you with others. Most of our members regularly sign up as individuals. It gives you the chance to play with new people each league! Learn more.
We ask that you have completed an instructional league or have curled in the past before you sign up for our open leagues.
Reminder: If you earned a volunteer discount this past season, don't forget to use the discount code emailed to you in May to pay for leagues this season. To use the code, you must pay online. If you didn't receive an email with a discount code and you think you should have qualified, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Save the date for Curl Jam

Curl Jam, a fundraising event for The Arc of East Central Iowa, will be back for its third year!
This year's event will be Friday, Oct. 9.
Businesses will make a large donation to the Arc in order to enter teams for a short learn-to-curl followed by a minispiel with three two-end games.
We need volunteers from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. We know that it's a big ask to take time off work, but we have a sponsor for the ice rental, so 100% of the money raised will go to the Arc.
