Hello,
It's been a busy start to our 2025-26 season and there is plenty more fun on the way!
NOTE: There will be NO CURLING on Nov. 25, the week of Thanksgiving. Enjoy the holiday week!
Get ready for a spooky curling night
We invite everyone to join the fun by dressing up in your best costumes for our curling league on October 28.
We’ll be hosting a costume contest with prizes for the best individual and team costumes. We can’t wait to see your creativity on the ice.
Happy Halloween and see you there!
Free bonspiels for CRC members
The Midwest Curling Association hosts several bonspiels throughout the year that are FREE for Cedar Rapids Curling members. These are great opportunities to play on dedicated ice.
The 11th annual Prairie State Challenge will be Nov. 1-2 at Chicago Curling Club and Exmoor Country Club. This is a great opportunity for curlers of all experience levels to get on the ice with old and new friends.
The MCA will host a 5&Under Dec. 5-7 at Windy City Curling Club. This is for those of you who have curled five year or less. Have fun with newer curlers!
The 79th annual Dar Curtis Bonspiel will be Feb. 28-March 1 at Exmoor Country Club. Teams in the Dar Curtis must consist of two players with five or fewer years experience curling and two players with six or more years experience. Check the MCA website for updates and registration for the Dar Curtis.
If you're looking for team members, throw a thread on the Cedar Rapids CC Virtual Warm Room Facebook group page or chat with people at league!
Do you love making content for social media? We want your help
With the Winter Olympics coming up, we are looking to boost our social media presence. Do you love keeping up with trends and have ideas for how to use them or want to come up with new ways to improve curling awareness and share Cedar Rapids Curling's story with the wider community? Bonus points if you have experience beating the algorithm and cutting through the noise!
If so, Emily Nelson would LOVE your help! Talk to her at league or email her at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Continue getting in your volunteer hours
Members who volunteer at six events during the upcoming 2025-26 season will be exempt from a league fee increase the following 2026-27 season.
To be counted as a volunteer at an event, you MUST sign up to volunteer on the website prior to the event. Some longer events will count as multiple events. We will indicate this on the sign-up page.
If you want to verify how many events you have volunteered at, email Cale Tesch at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
If your team is on a bye during instructional league, we ask that you discuss with your team if one or two of you would be willing to volunteer that night. Don't forget to sign up!
- Instructional league: Oct. 28–Nov. 18
We will host multiple large-scale learn-to-curl events in the winter to coincide with the Winter Olympics. And if we get the number of participants we have seen in the past during the Olympics, we will need all the volunteers we can get!
Congratulations to our nationals team!

Cale Tesch, Parker Abbott, Mac Marple, and Greg Schmitt competed last week at the 2025 U.S. Arena National Championship in Las Vegas.
We know that the week didn't go exactly like they hoped, but we are proud of how they represented Cedar Rapids Curling and the Midwest Curling Association!
Thank you for making Curl Jam a massive success

We are pleased to announce that the second annual Curl Jam raised $12,000 for Arc of East Central Iowa! We had a blast teaching community members from local businesses how to curl and then leading them through a mini-bonspiel, all while raising money for a great cause. We couldn't have done this without financial support from Simmons Perrine Law that allowed ALL funds raised to go to the Arc. We can't wait for next year!
